QotD: John McCain’s favourite joke

John McCain's favourite joke

I feel terrible for all the mothers in the state of Arizona because, as you know: Barry Goldwater from Arizona ran for President of the United States, Morris Udall from Arizona ran for President of the United States, Bruce Babbitt from Arizona ran for President of the United States, and I, John McCain from Arizona ran for President of the United States… Arizona may be the only state in the nation where mothers can no longer tell their children that some day they can grow up and be President of the United States.

 — John McCain in May 2003, via ZUG’s 100 Senator Prank

suggest you peruse wiki about mo udall and his brother stewart. learn some real history. also i was in high school when they tore apart barry goldwater as being a war monger with the flowers/nuke explosion commercial. a few years later i was in my first vietnam tour under the leadership of “president little jesus” and his co-clown cowboy johnson.

This joke isn’t a laugh-at-first-read joke, but it grew on me after a little time thinking about it.

I still think the best joke of the lot was Corzine’s, tho, and I agree with the prank’s author that “only Senator Corzine’s joke made me laugh out loud.” :-)
