I have the exact opposite problem. With my old apartment's crappy wiring, I get long brownouts every time my laser printer starts up (scattered a few $50 UPSes around and everything is fine but still, a bit worrisome).

Benjamin: some of us need to keep our computers on so we can feed our cats when we are away.

Joel: laser printers on UPS are bad. Something to do with the current spike from the toner heater? Dunno about inkjets.

I'll never get uptimes like this, since I'm in Germany and we're supposed to be environmental friendly and power electronics off when we don't need them. ;)

It takes a big man to admit the microwave thing. It's a sign of growth that you can do so (also a sign of extreme lameness that you need to). I'm so proud of you. :-)
