“If you’ve been reading this blog for a few years, you may recognize that I’ve swung further to the ‘freedom’ side of needle.” — I have, and it has reflected the mantra on my website: “I came for the quality, I stayed for the freedom.”

“It is violent enough to make you shudder and close enough to fascist art to make your skin crawl. It celebrates all the things the Fuehrer loved […] and all as it purports to be a movie about freedom.” — Paul Byrnes invokes Godwin’s Law on “300”. Hmm.

(On Byrnes) I agree.
Perhaps there’s a dogwhistle somewhere that I missed, but what I saw was a cinematic feast and a [historically inaccurate] presentation of an awe-inspiring event in the development of western culture.
To respond to it ad hominem suggests that Byrnes is in deep denial about [western] society’s dependence upon military strength.
{{ OK, off soapbox now. }}
