Howdy Mr Waugh,
Any chance we could get a link for the QotD? I’m damned if I can find the “Just Works” blog, although I suspect part of the problem is that every search for that phrase turns up a billion hits for Apple products…
Cheers,
Mike Sipior
That was my story. My first computer was a 486DX4 with a Sound Galaxy 16bit audio card, which was sold as compatible with Sound Blaster. It simply never worked right.
The lack of drivers, support and a design that emulated SB, i was forced to go to the rhetoric field.
Now I have ended my career and work as a developer. My home computer runs kubuntu and I am pretty sure sound will always work, it’s well supported in the kernel.
My conclusion?? Fuck Apple
Mike,
No link. The occasion was not URI addressable. Good lord.
Apologies, I obviously misunderstood the context of the quote.
M.
Mike, don’t feel bad; if you had not asked I would have.
