Lots of people still defend Bush. He got more votes than any other president, even after the war in iraq, abu ghraib, etc.

Bush didn't lose because the war was 'illegitimate', but because of scandals, deficits, 6 year itch, etc.

Clinton and Albright said the same things about Saddam's WMD, so I don't feel Bush misled me. Regime change in Iraq has been the policy of the US for many years--Bush just had the balls to finally off that tyrant. The middle east will be much more stable because of Bush, just as Eastern Europe became more stable because of Reagan. The great leaders, the war presidents, are always controversial.

Sure, its billions of our dollars, but the US has always been the world's police force. My grandparents were involved in World War II. Its part of our burden, being freedom's home. The idea the bush destabilized the world has a false premise; the world was not stable before he arrived.

Bush isn't nearly as divisive as the Democrats; if you saw more of the local politics, the lies told about him, that he's blamed for everything including stuff which predated him, and compare it to his dialogue, you'd realize he's brought tremendous dignity to Washington--it was a very divisive place before he arrived!

There's nothing wrong with being an idealogue--aren't you a 'free software' ideologue? He's a 'free elections' ideologue.

Anyway, you've now met another person who supports Bush in spite of the fact that *all* the elites look down on him. If you agree with the elites, are you a rebel or a sheep?

By the way, volvo owners vote Democrat.

Keith,

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA.

The last person who told me that "history will record Bush as one of the USA's greatest presidents" had two teeth, last read "My Pet Goat" (and regarded it as a sacred text) and wore flippers and floaties to wash his Volvo.

Bush has misled and cheated his own people, waged illegitimate war and destablised entire regions, and spent billions of your dollars to do so, which will come back to bite everyone (even outside the USA) in the arse.

I'm amazed that anyone's still defending this divisive, ideologue... but then, that's precisely why.

Also http://bitchphd.blogspot.com/2006/11/contest.html

For my money the best one is "I'd like to think that Nancy will work as closely with me as she would have with my predecessor."

Everyone in the press conference wanted the dems to win. The New York Times hasn't endorsed a republican for president in almost 60 years. Groupthink?

History will record that Bush is one of our greatest presidents, though how much he's weakened by Tuesday remains to be seen. I realize you've probably never heard that statement before but thats more of the groupthink which exists.

It was a bad night for the GOP, but they didn't deserve to lose. Did you watch any of the senate debates? The dem candidates sucked and sounded like robots attacking bush and yet bringing no ideas to the table. Where was the dems "contract with america?" The dems will say anything to win and have absolutely no agenda other than to gain power for themselves.

Its a lot easier to sit in the backseat and whine and so I hope you watch closely to see what they do.
