It prompted a renewed interest in something I'd never found a good solution to - analyzing page load times as seen by modem users. You wouldn't believe the hacks I've tried in the past. Well, here's one that works well: It's a java webstart based proxy server (it runs locally) that throttles your connection to whatever speed you like. It munges the URLs too, so you don't benefit from having a local cache of the site's static content. http://www.dallaway.com/sloppy/ Sloppy - the slow proxy.</description>
