The wiki is fine for listing splash competition entries. The problem you guys had was that all the entries were attached to the pages, which inflicts scalability issues given the current configuration. If remotely hosted images are displayed on the page, you don’t encounter those problems at all. See my wiki page as an example. It’s as easy as:
