kfish, annodex hackeur extraordinaire, brought a previously unknown GNOME conference to my attention: “So what will you be doing on Australia Day? Patriotic gnomes will be celebrating at Glenbrook Park in the Blue Mountains. The Australian Gnome Convention begins at 9am when gnomes will have an opportunity to compete for lavish prizes. Gnome owners are also welcome to attend. This event is organised by the Rotary Club of Lower Blue Mountains.” (As reported in Column 8, which is always good for a laugh.)
