Sri, some suggestions about the new summaries, being a keen reader. Thanks so much for getting the summaries kicking again!
- Skip almost all of the software releases, unless they have major interest value – there are lots of places to find out about these, and you’re better off having a shorter, more information-heavy summary than lots of little items about versions.
- Continuing on the information-heavy theme, it would be cool if the summary items were as detailed as they were previously. Rather than just saying “blah has happened”, editorialise a bit. Put yourself in there! I really enjoyed Christian’s old get-up-and-rock enthusiasm and sayings, even though sometimes I disagreed with points he made. But that was all part of the fun.
- Badger people for input and stories. Remind people to mail you when cool stuff happens. Encourage your team to randomly ask people if they have things going on. That will help the mindshare thing, too.
